a very interesting study I came across recently. The growing rate of
melanom since 1955 exactly follows the growing use of fluorescent lamps
since then. It does not explain, however the correlation of exposure
and occurence of melanomes on rarely exposed parts of the body.

Female Biometric Identification System
Students at Ohio State University invent female biometric identification system
Good news from Lima University, my home town. A group of female students developed FEBIS, a biometric identification device only for women.
Given the challenge to find a more secure way of identification than fingerprint or face recognition, these girls found the solution when taking a shower together after gym exercises. They observed, that the vulva area varies from girl to girl in a way it could be used for identification. A resonable priced 3-D scanner was purchased next day and first scans taken.
Sara B, speaker of the group, later said:" it was a real clandestine operation. If our male fellow students had found out, we´d never been able to continue the work. Most of it was done in our rooms, until we had the algorithm to turn the scan into exploitable digits. Later we continued in the classroom, working only on the method. We got a score of 100 for the outstanding idea, but only 50 points for usability. That is fair, since it can be used only on females, and requires a cabinet to take the scan. For the demonstration, we all left the panties at home, entered the cabinet and lifted the skirts. We had prepared the computer to show only a symbolic pussy during acquisition. Cognition rate was excellent 100 percent. If we had had one of these high-tech airport scanners, probably we could have made it with out the cabinet. Main point of all was, that a normally hidden part of the body is used for recognition. A face can be photographed, a fingerprint can be forged easily once you have copied from a touched object, but how to forge a part only known by your gynaecologist or boyfriend.?"
That leaves the question, how to obtain the scans for identification? Will there be public ( pubic?) scan office? Do I have to shave to get a good scan? And our fellow human beings of the other sex? OK, shape and size vary from man to man, and, in addition to that, what he is thinking of. I am positive, science will overcome these obstacles soon.
